Wedding Gifts
Wedding gifts are not mandatory when a couple gets
married. But, of course, many people desire to say their well wishes
and congratulations through wedding gifts. Friends and family will
almost always take the time to shop for wedding gifts that they
think will make the couple happy.
If you are like most people, you may be having a hard time deciding
what wedding gift you should buy and send to a newly wed. Please
consider the following suggestions for a useful, cost effective,
and loveable wedding gifts.
For him or for her?
Many wedding gift givers get a blank look with this question. Should
the wedding gift be meant to surprise her or him? Most of the time,
guests think about the bride when they are shopping for a wedding
gift. The wedding is a groom's gift for his bride. It will also
make the groom happy if you will buy items for his future wife.
Despite this, a bride would not mind if someone will think about
her groom's happiness. You can send gifts specifically for the groom's
enjoyment, and the groom may sometimes need a little surprise.
How much should it cost?
In wedding etiquette, it is believed that the importance of a gift
is not measured by its cost. As long as the gift giving comes from
the heart, it is enough even if the wedding gift costs a dollar.
In fact, wedding gifts that are not bought from stores, the priceless
ones, such as a painting especially made by the guest for the couple,
are appreciated more by the bride and groom.
Suggested useful items
You can help the newlyweds by sending them gifts that they can
use at home. Cutlery sets, vacuum cleaner, air and water purifier,
extra mattresses, bed sheets and comforters, and other home items
make for useful wedding gifts that a newly wed couple needs to maintain
an orderly home and use for a growing family.
Giving fun items are also refreshing in wedding gift giving. A
matching set of sexy lingerie, incense and aromatherapy sets for
bedroom use or edible panties and condoms as a parting gift for
their honeymoon are some examples. These wedding gifts should be
given in such a manner when there are no children around when the
gifts are opened or others who may take offense.
Or, if you are feeling a bit generous, why not treat the couple
for a night's dinner during their honeymoon? Ask the couple's wedding
planner for the couple's honeymoon destination and tell the wedding
planner that you will pay for the dinner. Of course, this information
will be disclosed to the couple only during their dinner night,
with the restaurant's host informing them of the wedding gift, complete
with a serenade by a quartet.
When should you send your wedding gift, you may ask? This is a
good thing to ask especially if you don't have the cash to spare
for gifts before and during the wedding.
According to wedding etiquette experts, gifts may be sent a few
weeks before the wedding to the new home of the couple, during the
wedding, and up to one year after the wedding. So, in case you were
worried, you still have time after the wedding day to save for that
wedding gift.
