Wedding Flowers
Wedding flowers give life to the marriage celebration.
Without wedding flowers, a ceremony would certainly gray and empty.
During weddings, flowers can be found everywhere from the bridesmaids
to the isle decorations to the wedding
bouquet. At the reception,
wedding flowers can be found on tables and placed around the reception
area.
Since wedding flowers are an essential part of the celebration
you don't want to be caught red handed without. Like most services
for a wedding, flowers should be planned in advance.
First, you'll need to think about the actual color or theme
for the wedding itself. Second, make a list of flowers you'd like
to see at the ceremony and reception, keeping in mind the color
scheme and theme of the overall celebration.
Give the list of preferred wedding flowers to the florist to see
what ideas he or she can come up with. Shop around for different
florists, however, to see who can deliver what and for what price.
Ask friends and family for florist referrals as chances are one
of them will have a quality recommendation.
Make wedding flower reservations at least 6-12 months in advance.
The most popular florists are the who are booked far in advance,
so get an early start on this aspect of the wedding planning.
There are a few pitfalls to watch out for in regard to wedding
flowers. For instance, the flowers that you prefer may be available
but in another part of the country or worse on the other side of
the globe.
Shipping and handling alone of these wedding flowers could sap
your entire wedding budget. Also, the wedding flowers that you want
may be out of season, so if the right flowers are that important,
planning the wedding date itself in the proper season may be required.
If keeping the particular wedding date is more important that going
with silk wedding flowers is another option.
To keep things under the budget, talk to your florist about your
plan and ask specifically on how you can save. The florist will
likely advise you to pick the flowers that are in season in your
area at the time of your event. Lilies, ranunculus, roses, tulips
and calla lilies are common wedding flowers.
Be sure to ask the florist if they provide transportation of the
wedding flowers from the ceremony to the reception. Instead of using
two different sets of wedding flowers make use of only one set and
repurpose them for the reception.
A flower used in the ceremony would still be as fresh when you
transfer it for reception. A florist or floral designer will know
how to use the same wedding flowers but with a different design
for the reception.
If your florist doesn't give this service, another option is to
ask a friend or a family member to do it. Those on a budget will
benefit by saving half of the price on separate flower arrangements.
Lastly, it is recommended not to decorate the entire reception
area with flowers. Choose only the important areas where people
would most often glance to see the plants. If you place wedding
flowers in every area, it will just annoy some guests as they stumble
through the flowers.
No matter what, though, wedding flowers as color, style, pizzazz
and meaning to any ceremony and reception. They'll add a lot to
the wedding photographs as well. So, use wedding flowers and use
them wisely to bring out the full color in your upcoming celebration.
