Wedding Decorations
Wedding decorations can make or break a reception.
Wedding decorations are one of the things that a bride must keep
a careful eye upon in order to set the mood that she wants to achieve.
To create coordinated wedding decorations and save yourself from
hodgepodge designs, consider the following wedding decoration suggestions.
Every wedding should have a theme.
This is to avoid confusion as to what type of decorations to put
in the reception area and what the wedding program should contain.
Therefore, before you shop for wedding decorations, you'd better
establish the event's theme first so as not buy mistakenly.
For instance, if you have decided for a nostalgia theme, you may
begin the hunt for wedding decorations at a movie set provider (a
third party service provider for television or movie props). If
you want a spaghetti western theme, there are props companies that
offer to lease furniture such as swinging doors with slats, a wine
bar backdrop, and other art pieces.
These materials are offered for lease not just to movie production
companies but to private individuals as well. Rent the props for
two days and you can sling your bouquet away like a gunslinger with
a swift but elegant throw.
The most important places that you should decorate on are tabletops
at the reception. The reason? Those dining tables are where guests
will stay most during the entire event..
Accessorize them according to your theme. So, if you have a garden
or Spring wedding, decorate each with a vase and wildflowers. For
a beach theme, seashells with ribbons as placeholders or see through
tiny sandboxes with colorful seashells will look perfect at the
center of dining tables.
For an outside grill / picnic theme wedding, you can ask friends
to create hanging lamps for you that are made from brown paper.
The color of an incandescent bulb is tamed down with brown paper
and creates an ambiance of elegance and sophistication especially
when it is getting dark.
When shopping for wedding decorations, make sure that you will
buy only those that will enhance the natural beauty of the reception
area and the other decorations that the caterer has provided (most
decorations on tabletops are part of the catering package).
In decorating your wedding reception, make sure that you will not
go over your budget. A drained pocket and zero balance bank accounts
are not good ways to start a new family.
Avoid spend everything that you have just for the sake of hosting
a wedding that everyone in town will talk about. Talk to your wedding
planner, if you have one, on how to maximize the budget and state
your desire not to go over that budget.
A wedding planner can create
a package for you that you can afford and that you can get excited
about. The planner can suggest wedding decorations and designs that
are effective yet cost effective.
If, however, you decide to do your own wedding decorations fear
not. As long as you have a modicum of style and design sense, you'll
do fine. Be sure to get feedback from trusted others ahead of time
and your wedding, including decorations will go off without a hitch.
