Wedding Checklist
A wedding checklist is necessary for an upcoming
event if the couple wants their big day to be hassle-free. So much
needs to be done before the nuptials that, without the organization
a checklist provides, the bride and groom can end up wiped out before
the big day even arrives.
The wedding checklist should probably contain everything that
needs to be done all the way start a year before the wedding day.
Listed below are a dozen basic items that need needs to be on everyone's
wedding checklist.
1. The very first thing to do is to set the event's date and time.
2. The second item the bride and groom will need to put on the
wedding checklist is the budget (it's smart to come up with a budget
that's too high, rather than too low, so that there's room for error).
Once the budget is set, everything else can start falling into place.
3. Next, set up a date with the florist (it can be hard getting
certain types of wedding flowers
at particular points of the year, so the sooner the better).
4. Call the wedding photographer
and make arrangements.
5. Book the DJ or band of choice, and reserving both the ceremony
and reception venues (these
reservations will need to be set up way in advance). It's good to
do all of this between six and 12 months before the ceremony.
6. Things that need to be done as early as possible, but not necessarily
as early as the above, are choosing members for the wedding party
and ordering and sending out RSVP invitations.
7. Soon after this, it would be good for the bride to set up arrangements
regarding her wedding dress,
makeup, and hair, and for the groom to work on getting his outfit.
8. From there, the bride should arrange coordinated clothing for
the bridesmaids and attendants.
9. This is also a good time to arrange for the most important things
that should be worn by anyone, the wedding
rings.
10. Once the couple is just a few months away from the big day,
the couple should make honeymoon arrangements. If traveling abroad,
both people need to check for any visa or transit visa requirements,
because they can take awhile to obtain.
11. Also, this is the time to order the wedding
cake, and if the bakery will do so, arrange for them to deliver
it to the venue the day of to save time and hassle.
12. Finally, it's about this time where the couple should come
up with a guest list. To figure out the number of guests who will
be coming, the bride and groom can get a much more accurate number
if they sent out RSVP invitations, which provide quick feedback
from invited guests on whether or not they'll be attending.
It might sound unnecessary, but perhaps the biggest part of the
checklist comes one month before the event, when the couple's main
task should be to GO OVER the wedding checklist and make sure everything
has been taken care of and that there are no loose ends.
The wedding checklist will go on and on, but these are the majority
of the basics. Start with these items listed above as the basic
wedding checklist and fill out your own personalized variations,
complete with dates of services or products ordered, whom you talked
with and the dates the services or products are promised.
Remember that as the project manager of this marriage celebration,
a little organization will go a long way towards making this a happy
and seemingly seamless event.
