Wedding Venues
Popular wedding venues are held in locations all
over the globe. The particular wedding venue could be significant
and meaningful to the soon-to-be-wed couple, or it might bear a
sentimental value to them.
There are hundreds of things to consider when choosing a wedding
venue, and it requires full and careful planning.
While hiring an event planner might be necessary, the major decisions
still reside with couple. So, here are a few things every planner
and couple should consider in choosing a wedding venue.
Popular Wedding Venues
Not all wedding venues have to be extravagant and cost the price
of a house to pull off. Some less expensive wedding venues include
restaurants, parks, beaches, theatrse, colleges and theme parks.
If you do have the money for an expensive wedding venue, then you
may wish to go to a location such as the Grand Hotel in Florence
(Firenza), Italy, the Cathedral Peak Hotel in South Africa or even
at the Legion of Honor Museum in San Francisco.
Required Date
Make sure the wedding venue of your choice is available on the
required date. You will need to double check that the wedding
location is booked well in advance. When it comes to wedding
destinations, you cannot afford to wait until the last minute
as most likely the venue will be booked up and you'll face the stress
in coming up with a new wedding venue that may never fully materialize.
Location
Is the location of the wedding venue easy to find? Or is it located
in a place where the invited friends, guests and relatives spend
time getting lost? Make the location easy to find so that guests
aren't stressed and will arrive early to witness your event. Also,
make sure that the wedding venue is licensed to carry out civil
weddings and the other legal regularities that go with it.
Accommodations
How many guests are you planning to have? The answer to that dictates
how big the wedding venue will be. When researching wedding venues,
you'll need to know how many parking spaces the destination can
accommodate. You don't want to have your guests complain about parking
their car 2 miles away from the wedding venue and walking long distances,
especially elderly or disabled guests. It would also be a plus if
no other weddings are being held at that venue on the same day,
so there is no overlap with your celebration.
Rooms
The kinds of rooms are important in wedding venues, as it is where
most of the preparations take place. So, having enough rooms at
one location will serve the event well. Your wedding venue should
provide rooms for the bride and the groom before and after the ceremony,
as well as for all the preparations that are needed for the event.
Rooms for the bridesmaids are also required so that no one is left
primping and prepping in the hallway. You should also check for
the additional rates in case you need extra rooms as the need arises.
If you are expecting a large volume of wedding presents, a room
may be needed to temporarily store all your gifts
Additional Facilities
A sound system or public address system is handy at most wedding
venues. It is wise to check on this especially for speeches that
will be given or for the musicians that will be playing. Being prepared
for any untoward incidents is also prudent. An example of this would
be having bad weather on the day of the event and having alternative
facilities available.
When it comes to your ideal wedding venue, visualize everything,
plan ahead and know what you want. It's the event of your lifetime
and it requires careful planning and a far-sighted view to make
the moment special for everyone to witness. It might not be a royal
wedding or a celebrity wedding, but your wedding is special, and
you should make the event as memorable as possible.
