Beach Weddings

Beach weddings have always been a popular theme and setting for exchanging vows. Recently, however, with the popularity of environmentalism and the skyrocketing costs for traditional events, beach weddings are becoming even more popular.

Getting married on a seashore is truly one of the most blissful and wonderful experience any bride and groom could ever have.

Man has always yearned to get in touch with his environment, and having one's wedding ceremony held at the beach is equally astonishing as well as spectacular for the couple and the guests alike.

The natural aura and magic of beach weddings is one that is relaxed and of harmony. Just as Adam and Eve consumed their union in paradise, so beach weddings are akin to this blissful, natural place.

Your Own Rules

It's your event, so you can make the beach wedding anything you want without the restrictions of indoor ceremony. You can get rid of the high heels of the formal ceremony and go barefoot or wear just plain flip-flops. With beach weddings, it's getting closer to nature that is important.

The Down Side

When it comes to beach weddings, always prepare for plan B. Since beach weddings are outdoors, they are subject to the whims of the weather. Even if the old farmer's almanac says that the weather will be perfect on the day of your beach wedding and the sun will shine brightly, there is no guarantee that the dark clouds won't threaten the ceremony.

Renting a tent should be on the list for your plan B. In addition, check the beachfront's facilities for other possibilities of a retreat to a shelter in case rain pours as you say "I do." And, naturally, when it comes to beach weddings, executing contingency measures will mean that added funds will be necessary.

Book Early on Airlines and Hotels

Beach weddings are usually held away from hometowns, so friends and families oftentimes have to take leave of home and work and fly hundred of miles just to witness you on your most precious day. In order to save your friends and families the hassle of getting lost and fending for themselves, the solution is book early for them on hotels and airlines.

Hotel as well as the airline companies most often offer package deals and freebies to those who book early. Make sure you acquire both (airline and hotel) packages because getting one and not the other may put you in a bind and end up saving little money.

Hiring a Professional

For your beach wedding, it is wise to consider hiring a wedding planner for the event. This professional has expertise that can save you not only the money but the time as well.

Even if you're not overly concerned with cutting costs, you cannot return the time lost and the trouble you may get into if the event is not handled properly. A wedding planner can help you also to prepare for some legalities of the beach wedding such as securing permits and other paperwork pertaining to the event.

Since beach weddings are open, public ceremonies, there is naturally the weather to be concerned about, but you might also consider having a plan B for "man-made" complications. Gatecrashers and nosy beach bums might be attracted to your spectacular beach wedding and may pose an annoyance, so be prepared to deal with this if one of these disturbances occurs.

All-in-all, though, beach weddings are a wonderful way to hold a public ceremony and commune before God, nature, family and friends in a natural setting that will set the event apart from the traditional church wedding.
